Mr Majid Chowdhry is a comprehensively trained Knee and Hip Orthopaedic surgeon.
Mr Chowdhry completed higher-specialty training in the South-East Thames region of London. Following this he trained as a Fellow in Toronto, Canada, with sports knee surgeons well-renowned in this field. He has treated both elite and recreational athletes. At St Michaels’ Hospital, Toronto, he also trained in revision hip and knee replacement surgery. He then returned to the UK to complete a further Trauma fellowship in Cambridge.
Currently he works as a knee and hip surgeon and polytrauma consultant at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust; as well as the Nuffield Haywards Heath, Nuffield Brighton, Spire Montefiore, and Spire Gatwick Park hospitals.

Mr Chowdhry’s interests revolve around treating conditions which cause pain in the knees, hips and pelvis. His specific area of interest lies in sports’ knee injuries, including ACL, PCL and complex ligament reconstruction, and he has extensive experience in performing these procedures. He commonly treats patients with arthritis, and has a wide range of expertise in knee joint preservation, complex primary knee and hip replacements.
His interest in sports injuries has come from being a keen sportsman himself. He is an honorary lecturer in Sports and Exercise Medicine, and contributes to teaching and research arms. Mr Chowdhry is widely published in orthopaedic literature, and has a focussed area of interest in the epidemiology of sport knee injuries. He has a Masters in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.
Mr Chowdhry also specialises in orthopaedic medico-legal reporting for both personal injury and clinical negligence.
